Computers for Schools Ontario Recipients:
First Nation Communities
I am writing to thank computers For Schools for their ongoing support to Beaverhouse First Nation and our members. Without the assistance we have received over the past years some of our members may have never had the opportunity to explore the World Wide Web…. We now offer an After School Program so that the children have a place to do research for school projects etc. This has been a great benefit to the members. We also have some of our older members come in just to gain the basic knowledge of the computer and the Internet. With that said I am pleased to notify you that we are attaching a donation to show our appreciation. May the program continue to assist others.

When I was first informed of CFSO, I admit I was a little skeptical – it seemed too good to be true. I thought I would either never hear back from them or the donated computers would be so old, they would be of little use. I was wrong in both cases. I would like to thank CFSO for their generous donation. The computers get daily use and are greatly assisting our residents to create a greater quality of life for themselves.

Literacy in the Community
The Literacy Council York-Simcoe believes the only way to combat the problem of illiteracy in our community is for community agencies and local businesses to work together to ensure all residents of York Region have the skills to function fully in our society. You (CFSO) have made great strides in the fulfillment of that vision with your contribution to our organization.

“When I was hired as a technician, I had theoretical knowledge but this program gave me all the hands on experience that is need and you require in the field. Books can’t tell you the real problems you face in the field it is the practical knowledge that counts.”
“I would like to thank Industry Canada for such a wonderful program, where technicians can get hands on experience as well as getting paid for it.
Working for RCT through this program is one of the best work environments I have ever worked in. I am gaining hands on experience in the field of information technology, building leadership skills and a strong work ethic. The diverse experience I am acquiring will definitely allow me to compete in the current competitive job market.
