AWARDS CELEBRATION

2016 – RCT celebrated the Government of Canada’s #WelcomeRefugees initiative and its key partners Computers for Success Canada and the Computers for Schools program.

Many of this year’s Award Recipients supported the delivery of free laptops to Syrian refugee families across Ontario.

It was an amazing success with RCT delivering over 3,000 computers, throughout Ontario, in 2016.

Recognition of our valuable supporters

We recognizes those organizations and individuals that have gone above and beyond to support our vision, annually.

Technology Accelerator Awards

The Technology Accelerator Awards are presented annually to the top three provincial donors of surplus IT equipment. These generous equipment donations are put to work to support the reuse of technology, skill development and learning opportunities for youth as well as environmental protection by diverting e-waste away from landfills though the reuse of viable technology.

The triple bottom line impacts: the social, economic and environmental impacts these donations have on communities at large is something worth celebrating!

Environmental Partner Award

RCT annually presents the Environmental Partner Award to donors who demonstrate a leadership role in mitigating the harmful impacts of e-waste on human health and the environment. This is accomplished by not only donating equipment that is reusable by schools, charities and not-for-profit organizations but by also donating equipment that is truly at its end-of-life to be recycled in an environmentally friendly and responsible manner.

Volunteer of the Year

As a not-for-profit organization, RCT understands the vital and integral role that volunteers play within an organization. RCT is proud to honour individuals whose contribution goes above and beyond the call of duty by presenting the Volunteer of the Year Award annually to an extraordinary individual who selflessly donates their time and expertise to further the reuse of technology and skill development.

JumpStart Award

The JumpStart Award was created in 2015 to recognize organizations that in a very short time have had a hugely positive impact on RCT. Their contributions vary in terms of support, however, the impact is clearly demonstrable

John W. May Award for Outstanding Volunteerism

The John W. May Award was created in 2008 to recognize individuals who give back to their community in an altruistic manner. This prestigious Award is named after, and is given to, an individual whose actions have personified the true meaning of volunteerism and its positive impact on society.

John W. May has demonstrated a selfless commitment of time, devotion and passion to the success of RCT, the national Computers for Schools (CFS) program, education and the community at large.
