Application – Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a deadline to apply?

There is no deadline to apply. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

I don't have a Group Code - how do I continue with the application?

Select “Pick Up Location” as “RCT Centre without a group code” or you can use this code:  L5T1P9-ECA, if you want us to ship your computer.

How many computers can I request?

You can request Two computers per family per household every one year. Applicants may be qualified only once every year.

How do I check on the status of my application?

Due to the high volume of applications, we kindly ask that you wait to be contacted by RCT to determine if you qualify for the RCTech OUTREACH program. RCT will contact applicants within 30 days.

If I do not meet the low income requirement or the enrollment in a skill development, learning or academic program criteria, is there another way to qualify?

Unfortunately there is not. The primary purpose of the program is to enable low income learners to achieve their academic pursuits.

Is there a certain age limit for applicants?

No, however we ask that parents/guardians complete the application forms and provide appropriate documentation for anyone under 18 years of age.

Can I reapply if I am not approved the first time?

If you are able to satisfy the eligibility requirements and provide proper documentation, you are welcome to reapply.

Do RCTech OUTREACH computers come with an operating system and software?

Yes, all computers for the RCTech OUTREACH program come with a Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office – Student Edition and Adobe Reader software.

Does RCT deliver computers?

Yes, if you are unable to access one of RCT’s centres. However, shipping and handling fee is extra.

Who can I contact to recycle my computer?

If you would like to recycle your computer, please contact and make arrangements to bring it to your local RCT centre where safe and environmentally friendly recycling processes are upheld.
