At Lumine, our mission has always been to create bright futures for the companies and people who join us. But as we’ve grown, we’ve realized that our mission can—and should—reach beyond our companies, touching the communities around us. That’s how we connected with RCTO.
RCTO’s dedication to fostering equitable access to opportunity aligns closely with our values. Together, we aim to invest in communities through technology, education, and empowerment—giving people the tools to learn, grow, and lead. We believe that when barriers are removed, potential is illuminated, and entire communities can benefit.
As the recipient of our 2025 Brighter Futures donation, RCTO has worked with our team to identify initiatives and communities that will see long-term impact from this support. Hearing the stories of these beneficiaries has been inspiring. It’s a reminder that while our contribution is just one small piece of RCTO’s broader mission, it plays a meaningful role in opening doors and creating lasting change.
We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this journey and look forward to seeing the incredible ways RCTO will continue to empower communities—and the bright futures that lie ahead.
Organizations that were supported because of Lumine:
Centennial Public School
“Thank you so much for the VERY generous laptop donation! To date, we have unpacked about half of the laptops and prepared them for student use in classrooms starting on the first day of school next week! We will be able to help so many more students throughout the school because of your donation. Our school has more than 850 students, and many go without computer access daily in their classrooms. No longer! Now, we will be able to ensure almost every classroom has a permanent bank of readily accessible laptops to support student exploration and learning.” Andrew Dobbie, Grade 6 SciTech Teacher, Centennial Senior Public School
Covenant House
“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks, on behalf of all of Covenant House Toronto, for your generous donation for the young people we serve. The computers you’ve donated will go a long way in making young people feel comfort, love and support from the community. With their basic needs being met, these young people can begin looking forward and mapping out a future for themselves beyond wondering where they will be the next day. These paths forward are possible due to the support of donors like you. The impact you make is life changing.” Mark Aston, Executive Director, Covenant House
M’Wikwedong Indigenous Friendship Centre
“Thank you for your donation of the technology to the M’Wikwedong Indigenous Friendship Centre in Owen Sound. As the Apatisiwin Program Coordinator (Training and Employment) at M’Wikwedong I see how many people access the services at our Centre on a regular basis. Having access to computers and laptops greatly enhances our urban Indigenous population’s ability engage with education, as well as job supports such as job searches, research and personal learning. Your donation is key in helping meet the needs of the community.” Jennifer Linklater, M’Wikwedong IFC, Owen Sound
The Ottawa Mission
“Thank you so much for your generous donation of twenty-five laptop computers to The Ottawa Mission! The laptops will be provided to students in our shelter’s Stepping Stones Learning Centre (SSLC) and will have a significant impact on their pursuits of transformative educational and career goals. Within our SSLC classroom, Mission and community clients will work alongside our onstaff teacher, using these laptops to complete classwork, obtain high school diplomas, apply for postsecondary education, work on language skills, prepare for job applications, and more.” Peter Tilley CEO, The Ottawa Mission
